The Second Annual Blue Drop Awards Celebrates Innovation

Community-driven awards celebrate the best in Drupal achievements

AUSTIN, TEXAS, February 27, 2013– Veteran Drupal community members, including Volacci, Door3 and Unleashed Technologies, announce the launch of the second annual Blue Drop Awards.  Created in 2012, Blue Drop Awards is an independent, community-nominated, event that aims to publicly recognize the excellent individuals, companies and projects that have pushed the limits and maximized the capabilities of the open-source content management system, Drupal.

“We got a great response from the Drupal community during the inaugural Blue Drop Awards campaign so we are excited to do it bigger and better in 2013,” said Ben Finklea, CEO, Volacci. “The Blue Drop Awards are a great way to highlight and celebrate  Drupal developers’ stellar innovations.” 

Drupal projects and the people behind them will be nominated by the Drupal community. Finalists will be selected by the Blue Drop Awards Nominating Committee based on Drupal innovation, use of Drupal best practices, content, structure and navigation, visual design, functionality and overall experience.

To Nominate and Volunteer: 

Nominations open February 26 and can be made by submitting sites for consideration to www.bluedropawards.org. 

Open community voting to identify winners in each category will kick-off on April 15 and will last unil May 5. Winners will be announced on May 22at an awards ceremony held at DrupalCon Portland.
